Small Globe Wernicke of historical interest
Small and compact sectional Globe Wernicke bookcase in mahogany , featuring a drawer at the base , 2 graduated shelves above and above those 2 lockable cupboards with key . All are encased by beveled edge glass doors and in between the 2 cupboards is a small display space . Interestingly , under one of the middle sections is stamped ' War Manufacture ' which indicates to me a production date of late 1939 / 1940 after which dates strict regulations applied to the use of luxury hardwoods and polished beveled glass under Government war time restrictions .
Good original condition and finish with minor marks commensurate with age .Separates into 5 sections for transport .
